Operation of the research projects of the IIAS is conducted by a Directors’ Meeting, comprised of a Director and Vice Directors, etc.
In order to promote research projects at the IIAS, we have established the Research Planning Committee and the Research Promotion Committee under the Directors’ Meeting.
The “Research Planning Committee” not only develops and determines research projects and their leaders, but also selects themes and their organizers for the IIAS Conference. In addition, the Committee investigates trends in sciences and what research themes should be undertaken, at the IIAS in the future, and occasionally selects members of the Research Promotion Committee and Fellows, etc. The Committee is comprised of eight members of the Director and Vice Directors and four Academic Councilors.
The “Research Promotion Committee” comprehends and evaluates progress of research projects, implements planning of the IIAS Conference and responds to various tasks in research activities of the IIAS to assist the Director and Vice Directors who are responsible for the research projects proposed by the Research Planning Committee. The Committee is comprised of Vice Directors and outside prestigious scientists and scholars.
