The land is loaned by Kyoto Prefecture free of charge.
Construction funds for the facilities (including the garden) were privately donated by the
founder of OMRON Corporation, Mr. Kazuma Tateishi and his son Mr. Takao Tateishi, and assistance from Kintetsu Corporation was received.
The tea
ceremony room was donated by Sen Genshitsu, Grand Master and the former head of Urasenke.
There are three Gates, that is, the Main Gate, West Gate (an entranceway to the Secretariat), and North Gate,(an entranceway to lodging facilities).
This is located in between the Administration Building and Research Buildings, which is used mainly as a forum for dining and communication.
This room has the capacity which has 30 seats for meeting. Seminar Rooms have been set up at two Research Buildings.
A Private Research Room has a space of 25 m2 and there are 26 rooms in the Research Buildings equipped with OA systems.
The Lecture Hall has a seating capacity of 126 (fixed seats) and a lounge. The hall is used for symposia and lectures, etc.
The Seminar Lounge is used for multipurpose meetings.
At the west entrance of the Secretariat which is immediately after entering the West Sub Gate, there is a Secretariat and a Conference Guest Room.
The IIAS used to hold a tea ceremony party every year as part of activities contributing to local communities.
This is used for the residence of the Director.
