Core Program
Development and Practical Research of Interdisciplinary Co-Creation Methods for Realizing a Sustainable and Resilient Society
- Research Representative: ARIMOTO Tateo
- Academic Advisor, IIAS/Advisor, Japan Science and Technology Agency
Visiting Professor, National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies
Humanity faces existential crises, as well as crises in academia and science and technology. The state of fragmentation, particularly within Japan, is significant. We will return to the founding principle of the Institute for Advanced Study: "uncovering what must be studied for the future and happiness of humanity" We will co-creatively foster and expand a venue where diverse stakeholders can freely discuss, from the bottom up, the exploration of questions and methods of solution, transcending the boundaries of disciplines, organizations, gender, generation, and nationality, and explore new directions for academia, science, and technology. We will form, maintain, and expand a network connecting individuals and groups both domestically and internationally.
