Research on 'Consciousness' Guiding People to Health and Happiness: Focusing on its Link with Interpersonal Relationships
- Research Representative: TAKAMI Shigeru
- Academic Adviser, IIAS/President, Kyoto Koka Women’s University
Professor Emeritus, Kyoto University
Amid growing concerns today regarding issues critical to human survival, the world urgently requires the further advancement of cultural and academic research toward realizing a sustainable society.
The Keihanna Science City, where this institute is located, has, since its inception, actively tackled these challenges. Our efforts include global-scale environmental research, cultural and academic studies fusing natural science with humanities and social sciences, and various forward-looking initiatives. As a result, since the city's opening in 1994, it has attracted numerous research institutions and companies, continuing to grow as a unique science city in the Kansai region.
The aim of this research is to contribute to the realization of the "Keihanna: Advanced City for Well-being and Happiness." We seek to identify the nature of 'Consciousness' that guides people to health and happiness and, in doing so, discover clues to improve the well-being of citizens, primarily those residing in the Keihanna area.
