Trends in Science and Technology and the Future of Robotics: The Relationship between Robotics and the Home

Research Representative: KOTERA Hidetoshi
Academic Advisor, IIAS
Honorary Professor and Specially Appointed Professor,Kyoto University/Osaka University

Given that Keihanna Science City is a base for R&D and commercialization in the fields of robots and robotics, we will investigate the current state of research and development in the future of robots, robotics, and Human Augmentation (the extension of human capabilities through the integration of humans and technology), and discuss future directions.
Regarding robots and robotics, we will survey the status and future directions of conventional and current robotics research. Simultaneously, we will investigate the relationship between humans and robots, as well as the future trajectory of Human Augmentation technology. We will then conduct discussions focusing on the sensibility, ethics, and technology involved when robots interact with people, and compile the content of these discussions.
